Griffin & Co is a family-run, GIA-certified fine jeweller. Our workshop sits at 64 South Street, Chichester, and from there our specialist travels out to clients across a wide area of the South East. A home visit brings the design conversation into your own space, where it belongs.
What a home visit actually involves
A private jewellery consultation at home is unhurried and personal. We arrange a time that suits you, then our specialist arrives and sits down with you properly, in your own surroundings, to talk through what you have in mind.
You do not need to prepare anything. Some people bring an old ring they want to remodel, a rough sketch, or simply a feeling they are trying to describe. Others start with nothing more than a stone they love. All of that is a good beginning.
We bring the design conversation to you: options to look at, ideas to hold and compare, and honest guidance on what will work for the piece you want. Because you are at home, you can take your time, step away to make a cup of tea, and think without pressure. It is a warm, low-key way to start something that matters.
Why a home visit suits a bespoke commission
A bespoke piece is not an off-the-shelf purchase, so it deserves more than a few minutes at a counter. A commission is a series of small, considered decisions about metal, stone, shape and feel, and those decisions are easier to make when you are relaxed and unhurried.
At home you can see how a design idea sits against the things you wear every day. A partner can join the conversation. You can weigh choices together, without an audience. For many people, that comfort is exactly what makes the difference between a piece they like and a piece they love.
Once your design is signed off, our workshop takes over. All the work is carried out in a UK workshop, in 100% recycled metals, and a bespoke commission typically takes six to twelve weeks. You will receive a CAD render within 24 hours of design sign-off, so you can see your idea take shape before any metal is cut.
Where we travel
Our home-visit coverage spans West Sussex, Surrey, Hampshire and Greater London. Wherever you are within that area, our specialist can come to you.
- In Hampshire, we regularly visit clients in Winchester for private, at-home consultations.
- We also travel to clients in Southampton, bringing the full design conversation to your door.
- In West Sussex, we visit clients in Horsham for home-visit consultations.
- And we come to clients in Crawley, so there is no need to travel to us.
