Bespoke Shaped & Contour Rings Journey

1. Consultation

Bring your engagement ring (if applicable) and your ideas. We'll discuss the perfect fit, style, and metal to create a harmonious pair, or design matching bands for you and your partner.
2. Design

Using precise measurements, we'll create sketches or 3D renders of your band. For shaped rings, we'll ensure a flawless, custom-fit contour to your exact engagement ring.
3. Creation

Your vision is brought to life. Our master jewellers meticulously handcraft your ring in our workshop, setting every stone and polishing every surface to a flawless finish.

Frequently Asked Questions about Shaped & Contour Rings

You typically need a shaped wedding ring if your engagement ring has a setting that sits low on the finger or has a unique shape (like a large central stone or an elongated cut like a Marquise or Oval).

In these cases, a standard straight wedding band won't sit flush, leaving an awkward gap or causing the rings to rub against each other. Our shaped rings are designed to curve gently around your engagement ring, creating a seamless "jigsaw" fit that looks beautiful and protects both rings from wear.

We treat shaped rings as a bespoke commission to ensure a flawless fit.

Our process typically involves creating a 3D scan or a physical mould of your specific engagement ring.

From this, we design a "shadow band" that traces the exact contours of your ring. Before the final piece is cast in metal, you will often have the opportunity to view a CAD design or a wax model to ensure the curve and aesthetic are exactly what you envisioned.

We offer a variety of profiles to suit different engagement ring styles and personal tastes. Our collection includes:

  • Wishbone Rings: Featuring a V-shape dip, perfect for solitaire stones.
  • Curved Bands: A gentle, sweeping curve for oval or round clusters.

Yes, absolutely. While they are designed to fit around another ring, many shaped bands—particularly Wishbone and Crossover styles—look stunning when worn alone.

Their unique geometry creates an elegant, elongating effect on the finger. If you plan to wear your wedding ring solo frequently, we can recommend styles that look balanced and complete even without the engagement ring.

To guarantee a precision fit, we usually require your engagement ring for a short period during the initial design phase (to take accurate measurements or a 3D scan) and again at the very end for the final fitting and finishing. We understand how precious your ring is, and it will be kept securely in our Chichester safe or workshop at all times. We will discuss the specific timeline with you during your initial consultation so you know exactly what to expect.
